We’re thrilled to announce that Joshua McAllister, PE, CPESC, MBA, has been elected President of HEB Engineers, Inc. He is HEB’s third President, following Jay Poulin, PE, who served as HEB’s President from 2013 to 2026, and Ed Bergeron, the company’s founder and president from 1974-2013. Jay will transition to a Vice President and continue to serve as HEB’s Director of Business Development.

“Josh brings a deep understanding of our work and the communities we serve,” said Jay. “With over 20 years at HEB, he's played a key role in shaping how we deliver projects and defining our company culture. I’m confident he’ll lead the firm forward while remaining true to our mission and values.”

Originally from Hart’s Location, Josh traces his path to engineering back to drafting classes at the Mount Washington Valley Career & Technical Center at Kennett High School. After graduating from Kennett in 1998, he spent a summer interning at HEB in 2001 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Clarkson University in 2002. Following early career roles in Washington, D.C., and Albany, N.Y., he returned to Mount Washington Valley and joined HEB in 2004 as a Junior Engineer.

Since then, Josh has taken on increasing leadership responsibilities at HEB. He became a shareholder in 2008, was appointed Vice President in 2013, served as Director of Civil Engineering, and is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. During his tenure, he has led some of the company’s largest site development projects, including the Cranmore Mountain Resort base area redevelopment, Technology Village, and the Mount Washington Valley Adult Day Center.

Out of the office, Josh is the head coach of the Kennett High School Varsity baseball team and President of the Mt. Washington Valley Cal Ripken League. Additionally, he is a member of the Mount Washington Valley Career and Technical Center Regional Advisory Committee, the Kennett High School Drafting/Engineering Advisory Committee, the New Hampshire High School Baseball Coaches Association, and the Mount Washington Valley Youth Hockey Association.

Josh emphasized his desire to maintain continuity in HEB’s leadership and direction.  “HEB’s strength has always been its people and its collaborative approach to leadership. Titles change, but how we conduct our work and the standards we hold don’t. I’m lucky to have a great team to support my transition into this new role. And in an employee-owned company, every voice has a stake in where we go next.”

Looking ahead, HEB will continue to expand its work across the region while building on the strong relationships and reputation it has established. The firm is focused on strengthening its core services, taking on increasingly complex and impactful projects to serve community needs, and providing well-paid jobs in the Valley. With a collaborative, employee-owned culture at its foundation, HEB is well-positioned for its next chapter of growth.
