Meet Our 2025 Summer Interns
As summer winds down, we're saying goodbye to a fantastic group of interns who’ve spent the last few months learning, contributing, and growing with us at HEB.
This summer, we were fortunate to have six interns working alongside our civil, structural, and land surveying teams. Three joined us for the first time, while three have returned, or stuck with us, from a previous internship. Whether they were out in the field or working alongside our design teams, each intern embraced the opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow.
Before they head back to school, we asked them to share a few reflections on their experience, what they’ve learned, and what’s next. Here’s what they had to say:

Beckett Clark
Civil Engineering Intern
Q: What’s your favorite way to unwind outside of work?
A: My favorite way to unwind is playing sports, specifically soccer, and hanging out with friends.
Q: What do you hope to do after graduation?
A: I hope to go on to get my Masters in Structural engineering at UCF after graduating and live and work in Orlando.
Q: Is there a specific area of engineering or surveying you're most excited about?
A: I’m very excited to eventually get to learn and practice structural engineering

Brody Duquette
Land Surveying Intern
Q: What’s been your favorite project or task so far at HEB?
A: My favorite job to work on this year would be the Main St. Pedestrian Improvements in Gorham because it was close to home while knowing it would improve the safety of pedestrians after it’s been constructed.
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to future interns?
A: Listen to everything! Take advantage of the good teachers available and ask the questions.
Q: What’s your favorite way to unwind outside of work?
A: My favorite way to unwind is to go kayaking at camp and fish at my spots with my brothers.

Caleb Bradford
Structural Engineering Intern
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to future interns?
A: If there was one piece of advice I could offer to future interns it would be to make sure you ask plenty of questions and do not hesitate to reach out to anyone. You are there to learn and grow and that is only possible through trial and error and asking questions.
Q: What’s something unique or fun about you that your coworkers might not know yet?
A: Something unique that my coworkers might not know about me yet is that I have won 2 State Championships in Baseball and Basketball.
Q: What do you hope to do after graduation?
A: After I graduate, I hope to continue pursuing a career in Structural Engineering and hopefully continue working at HEB.

Evan Poulin
Land Surveying Intern
Q: What drew you to engineering/surveying?
A: Wanting to design bridges, roads, and buildings. Also, growing up with my dad being an engineer.
Q: Is there a specific area of engineering or surveying you're most excited about?
A: The specific area of engineering that excites me is structural because I would like to design mostly bridges, but roads and buildings as well.
Q: What’s something unique or fun about you that your coworkers might not know yet?
A: I play hockey at a collegiate level

Owen Robertson
Civil Engineering Intern
Q: What drew you to engineering/surveying?
A: I was drawn to engineering because I like problem-solving.
Q: What have you learned that surprised you?
A: I was surprised by how much thought and effort it takes to maintain or build a road.
Q: What's been the most challenging thing you've tackled so far?
A: The most challenging thing has been learning the software that is used at HEB.

Ryan Meade
Civil Engineering Intern
Q: If you could design your dream project, what would it be?
A: I would love to redesign downtown North Conway, mostly to improve traffic flow and to further improve walkability. Dreams may include a few roundabouts.
Q: What’s your favorite way to unwind outside of work?
A: Definitely getting on the mountain bike and riding the downhill
Q: Is there a specific area of engineering or surveying you're most excited about?
A: I am excited to do more transportation projects. I really enjoyed designing the rail trail and Crane Brook Road this summer.
To Beckett, Brody, Caleb, Evan, Owen, and Ryan — thank you for the dedication you brought to HEB this summer. We’ve enjoyed having you on our team and watching you grow in your roles.
We wish you all the best as you head into the new school year and continue working toward your goals. Your future in engineering and surveying is bright, and we look forward to seeing where it takes you.
