HEB Wins Excellence Award for Ravine House Pond Dam

HEB Engineers was selected for an ACEC-NH ‘Engineering Excellence’ Small Project Award last Thursday for the Ravine House Pond Dam stabilization project in Randolph, NH.  The historic dam at the popular local recreation spot over-topped during Tropical Storm Irene, causing significant erosion downstream.  HEB worked with the Town of Randolph to obtain FEMA Public Assistance funds to reconstruct the dam structure and build a new overflow spillway to alleviate issues in the future.  The project was awarded to Gordon T. Burke & Sons of North Conway, NH, and construction was completed in the spring of 2014.

The Engineering Excellence awards are given to New Hampshire engineering firms whose projects have innovative and unique designs, meet client budgetary and scheduling needs, promote sustainability, and which advance the engineering industry in the state.
