Working as a consultant to a Maine surveying firm, HEB helped garner early last year an indefinite-quantities contract with the USDI Fish & Wildlife Service for acquisition surveys of refuge tracts in Maine and New Hampshire. Mostly involving the protection of significant wetland and watershed systems, work has involved performing a small camp-lot survey on the Magalloway River in Wentworth Location, NH, being added to the Lake Umbabgog NF&WR, and a 13-acre lot survey starting the preservation of Blueberry Swamp in Columbia, NH, a compartment of the Silvio O. Conti NF&WR. The second endeavor entails registry research and GPS field work having revealed a title problem involving senior rights by an abutter to the swampiest two acres of the subject tract.
